Since 2010, RPS Retirement Plan Advisors has been a 3(38) fiduciary advisor preparing employees of our clients to retire on time and financially secure while easing much of the fiduciary duties and associated liability from the company’s plan sponsor.

The advantage of using a fee-only Registered Investment Advisor, like RPS, is that we’re able to provide services that always serve the best interests of you and your employees. For decades, we’ve delivered non-commissioned fiduciary services to our clients because it’s the best way to build a company’s retirement benefits program.

Our History

Since 1991, high net worth individuals and families have trusted Richard P. Slaughter Associates, a wealth management company based in Austin, Texas, to manage their assets, relying upon its team of experts for the guidance to reach their financial goals.

In 2010, Slaughter Associates launched a division to bring 401(k) advisory services to companies and organizations that were not receiving the expertise and attention that a company and its employees should be receiving from their retirement plan advisor. The 401(k) division was rebranded as RPS Retirement Plan Advisors in 2013 to better articulate the dedicated retirement plan services offered. In 2022, RPS became a wholly owned subsidiary of Richard P. Slaughter Holdings with its own RIA registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission. This provided RPS with the flexibility and independence to operate more responsively to economic conditions for our clients while still retaining a collaborative relationship with one of the most well-regarded and oldest fee-only wealth management firms in the country.

Serving Our Community

Contributing to our community goes beyond simply doing business here. At RPS, we believe in doing our part to help our community thrive. Members of our team are routinely involved in the Greater Austin area (and elsewhere) by serving on various non-profit organizations’ board of directors and contributing to them with all our available resources.

RPS also supports programs and services of charitable organizations as selected by our employees on an annual basis through contributions and volunteer service. Each year, we help contribute to and support the Richard P. Slaughter Associates Golf for Charity Classic – an event that annually raises tens of thousands of dollars for local nonprofits. Over the years, this event has raised well over half-a-million dollars for these local organizations serving our community.
